How I Work - Textile Industry B2B Marketing - Linda Kaun Copywriting
I'd wanted to do a webpage for a long time but I found it very difficult to write about myself, to concisely express what I wanted to say. Then I thought of Linda Kaun. I knew she was an excellent writer. She interviewed me, asking a lot of pertinent questions, getting a feel of what I wanted to convey on my webpage. I'm very happy with the results and feel she captured me perfectly. I'd recommend her to everyone.

Here’s what you can expect when you work with me

I give each project 150% of my attention and commitment … going well beyond the minimum required to get the job done. Some clients know exactly what they want down to the size of the envelope and pages of the sales letter and provide all background information from the get-go. I’m happy to be an order-taker and meet your specifications. More commonly though, clients are not clear on the best approach, for either the entire project or certain aspects of it.

In that case, I engage you in a collaborative process of discovery by asking a ton of questions. I get you thinking about your company, your products, and your place in the market often from an entirely new perspective. Plus I discover those nuggets of information that turn browsers into sign-me-up participants. Then I hone the message to meet your targeted marketing objective.

The end results are buyer-focused marketing and sales materials, translating your message into benefits your buyers can relate to. This means greater response and increased revenue for you.

My Basic Approach

Getting clear on the scope of your project and creating a proposal is the first step. I start by determining the project’s complexity. Do you have your creative brief in place or do we need to formulate your basic message and strategy? What are the marketing objectives? It might be to bring in leads, generate traffic at your upcoming trade show, or send for your new fabric sample pack. What is the project budget? Do you need more than one concept? Additional testing? From your answers I develop a per-project fee structure.

Next we get to the heart of your project, consulting with you to develop the message and creative concepts. We’ll examine information about your target audience; what motivates them, what objections they might have, how we can overcome those objections. We’ll discuss your product, its positioning and how you want to be perceived.

Then, in order to bring clarity and focused direction to each project, I work from a Creative Brief. This is a well-defined blueprint of the entire project information on your buyers, your product’s benefits, support for those benefits via research, testimonials, credentials, online analytics and so on; your offer, your unique selling proposition, and specifics on the deliverables.

Often the client fills this out. But I can also take on the job. One way or the other, I won’t proceed without it. Why? I know it will not only assure we are in agreement on the direction and scope of the work, but dramatically increase your promotion’s chances for success.

My approach is always with an eye on measurable results. For that reason, no matter what type of materials you are creating, from a magazine advertisement to a website campaign, I only recommend direct response methods so you can track results.

Your project in all its details is important to me. So are your deadlines and submitting copy free of grammatical errors, misspellings and typos. Throughout your project I keep you up-to-date via phone or email. I view my work as a collaborative process, realizing I’m part of a team of executives, designers, webmasters, marketers and others, working together to produce the best possible results.

My Guiding Principle

The simplest way to express my guiding principle is summed up in the concept of old-fashioned customer service. That service is based on trust, commitment to your success, going out of my way to make sure your job is of the highest level I can provide, being helpful and friendly to work with. My goal is to develop long-term relationships with clients. But whether it’s one job or ten that I complete for you, I’m here to help you grow your business with honesty and integrity.

How a Passion for Textiles Translates into Greater ROI for You

Combining my professional training in direct response copywriting and marketing collateral with my strengths and experiences as a college teacher – published writer – workshop leader – lecturer – saleswoman – and marketer – make me an ideal choice to help your business generate more qualified leads, increase your ROI and expand sales.

My life-long passion for textiles of all kinds, coupled with a 30-year career as a batik artist, gives me a working knowledge of dyeing, printing, stitching and other textile processes that few other copywriters possess.

Living in Indonesia since 1992, I understand problems and solutions from different cultural perspectives … a vitally important skill in the current global context of the textile trade.
